how do i adjust tension on genie garage door opener?
Universal Garage Door Remotes?
I need a universal garage door remote that will open a door that uses dip switches and a garage door that has the code transmitter. Do they make such a door remote? I would also like to have it with atleast 3 if not 4 buttons to open 4 doors. Thanks for you help!

It is a craftsman brand, also i have to walk right up to the garage door and use the remote just for it to work. So what can i do to solve this problem???
Shopmaster (Stanley?) garage opener remote control help?
We have an old Shopmaster 1/3 hp garage door opener with a simple remote control (no keypad). Unfortunately the remote control is set to the wrong code (kids like to take things apart, don’t they?). I’ve opened the door opener to look for a code but can’t find anything inside. The remote control itself has 9 toggle switches with 3 settings each, so it would take a while to go through all the combinations. Does anyone have a manual for this old beast?

our sears/craftsman remote garage opener (model #139.53778) has stopped working with the opener. it works a few inches away from the sensor wire, but further and there is no connection. we’ve tried changing the battery with the same result. if anyone can help, it be deeply appreciated.
I need help programming my replacement garage door remote control.?
I live in a condo building with a shared garage door and I lost my remote. I bought a replacement remote at Home Depot. It’s a Chamberlain Clicker universal remote with two buttons. It has 2 banks of switches – one bank of 4 "brand" switches, and one bank of 12 DIP switches.
I tried to program the remote using my neighbor’s remote’s settings, but her remote only has one bank of 10 DIP switches. The brand of her remote is "Linear". I don’t know the brand of my building’s garage door opener, but I’ve tried to program all 16 combinations of my new remote’s 4 "brand" switches, also copying the first 10 DIP switch settings from my neighbor’s remote (with my last 2 DIP switches set to off) … to no avail. My neighbor’s remote works and I can’t get mine to work. Help!
My garage door opener only works when the remote is within 3 to 5 ft. Is there away to extend the antenna ?

Multi-Code garage door remote opener?
Hey, I’m looking for a new garage door remote.
I’ve been looking online, and have found a multi-code remote. It has 10 switches that can each be set to meet the specific frequency of the door. I was wondering if this would work for my Craftsman Screw Drive 1995 opener. Do I need to know the 10 switch combination? Will it give me a list so I can set it to my specific opener? Will this interfere with my previous openers?

This is a craftsman 1/2 horse power chain drive opener probably 15 years old (pre-safety beam sensors). Short of stripping a gear that I was able to replace it has been reliable since I bought the house 5 years ago. One morning the little red light in the wall button was out and the door wouldn’t work at all. Any troubleshooting suggestions short of buying a new one?
